With the Memorial Day holiday in the rearview mirror, it is now full-steam ahead into summer and who doesn’t love that? Warm weather, relaxing by the pool, and family vacations. However, if you’re a family that values fitness, vacations can be a tricky task.

Since you want to enjoy your time, and maybe eat a meal you usually wouldn’t at home or have a couple of extra drinks while lounging, it’s important to know what you and your family can do to stay fit during vacation.

As a top gym in Mt. Laurel, we thought we’d give you some tips and pointers on how you can maintain muscle and keep up with your cardio on vacation. Continue reading below to learn more.

Pack Your Walking Shoes

There’s nothing like a walk on vacation to help get your cardio going. Whether you plan a trip to the beach for a week, up to a lake house in the mountains or a visit in a major city, there are always paths and areas that you and your family can walk, stroll or take a run down. Also, scheduling walking tours during your vacation is fun and informative way to burn those calories off.

Use the Stairs

Everyone seems to always want to take the elevator and never the stairs. But if you’re staying in a hotel for your vacation, there is an excellent opportunity for you to remain active by either taking the steps from time to time to your room or by incorporating them in your workout.

Bring the Gym to You

You can be right in your own hotel room or on the sand and still perform simple bodyweight exercises. From squats and push-ups to crunches and lunges, there are countless exercises you can try while on vacation and without a gym.

When you get back from vacation, and back in the swing of things, that means it’s time to head to Kennedy Fitness. We’ll always have a Zumba class in Cherry Hill waiting for you, and if you stay active during vacation, it makes it easier to get back in your routine.
